Hello fabulous!

This week I'm doing a post on something I don't think I've ever covered before - hair.
Having dyed hair, I like to take care of it as much as I can. I have been dying my hair blonde since I was 14. It was only last year I decided I wanted a change and got balayage. I absolutely LOVE it and it's super easy to maintain (hello no regrowth!), so I don't think I'll be going back to the full blonde locks anytime soon!

No matter your hair colour or whether you dye it or not, it's always important to have great products to maintain your luscious locks! Lately I've been using a shampoo & conditioner that I can't get enough of - not only does it smell amazing but it also makes my hair feel SO soft. I can definitely tell the difference between using these and using the typical supermarket brands. While you'd be paying quite a bit more for salon quality products, it's justifiable when you're thinking of the benefits it has for your hair over supermarket brands.

The products I've been using are the TIGI Catwalk (Oatmeal & Honey) Shampoo & Conditioner and I couldn't speak higher of them. To make my hair extra soft, I would always rely on a hair oil after showering. But now I can totally skip that part if I want to because these two products together work wonders! I'm super happy with the way it makes my hair feel. So much so that I never want the bottle to end! I'll also add that it smells delicious. Seriously, it's a pleasant shower time all 'round.

Good work, TIGI!

Hey hey!
Lately I've been trialing a new product that's dropped into my lap - Matcha body scrub from Queensland-based company, Bitchinskin.
I know what you're thinking: 'how badass is that name!' - I totally agree. It's so naughty but so right!
If you're an Instagram freak like me, you'd be aware of the range of coffee body scrubs on offer. However, something I hadn't tried is a matcha body scrub. Not only is the smell not overwhelming like coffee-based scrubs are, but I personally found that it wasn't so harsh on my skin.

But what the heck is Matcha?
It's pretty much magic. It's stone-ground powder of processed green tea. It actually contains the nutritional value of 10 cups of regular green tea. It's packed with antioxidants, it boosts metabolism, burns calories, relaxes the body and mind, prevents disease, enhances mood and concentration and lowers cholesterol and blood sugar.

On Bitchinskin's website the product is described as:
"The Australian body scrub exploding with Matcha green tea, peppermint, and coconut to
brighten, purify, smooth and tone. Soothe post-workout soreness, keep skin youthful and combat acne, eczema, sun damage, and wrinkles. leaves you silky-soft, hydrated, smooth and toned."
AND it's organic - so it's going to be your skins new bestie.
How do I use it?

Apart from leaving my skin silky smooth, the smell of Bitchinskin is seriously amazing! It's fresh and you can really smell the peppermint. What's good is it's not too much and it makes your shower smell like heaven! All you have to do is reach in to the brown bag, grab some scrub and do exactly that! I like to rub it into my skin in circular motions and let it sit for a couple of minutes before I rinse it all off.

I like using Bitchinskin at least once a week. It's great to get rid of any leftover fake tan and it's perfect to use after a night out to get your skin feeling fresh for the week ahead! Don't be afraid to try it on your face and even your lips for a smooth pout.

Bitchinkin is only $14.95 AND there's free shipping in Australia - hallelujah!
Don't forget to follow them on Instagram for great posts and cheeky humor.

Hey hey!
Last week I hopped on over to Brazilian Beauty's Mount Gravatt salon to receive a facial. I was super excited because I knew my skin was in desperate need of some TLC and who doesn't love a facial?! I had never been to a Brazilian Beauty salon before and was keen to see how this experience compared to others I had been to in the past.

I walked in to the salon and was greeted by the friendly Roxy who gave me a form to fill out to determine what my skin concerns were and other health questions. After that, I was introduced to Irene who would be giving me the facial. Before anything, I was taken over to their skin scanner to see what exactly was going on with my face! Irene explained that my main skin problem was that it was dehydrated. Alongside that, I was quite oily in my T-Zone (which is no news to me as I have to blot my skin throughout the day when I wear makeup!). I also had congestion which needed to be cleared up.

I was then taken into a treatment room where I was explained literally EVERTHING about my skin, what was going to be done, I was asked questions and educated on pretty much everything. I couldn't believe how much Irene knew and it made me feel super comfortable having her do my treatment. Seriously, go to Brazilian Beauty Mount Gravatt and chat to Irene! That was my first tick off the list, as I have never been given so much information before a facial before and I learnt quite a lot about what it was my skin was needing.

We decided to include an 'ASI Pro Peel' - which is only a $35 add on to a facial. The Australian Skin Institute (based in Brisbane!) has developed three unique peels that are available at Brazilian Beauty.
The Mature Skin peel exfoliates, regenerates collagen and elasticity while reducing the appearance of sun damage, uneven skin tone and fine lines. It also helps with hyper pigmentation and other skin discolourations.

Within my treatment, I received a pre-cleanse, cleansing, a peel, mask, massage and a B3 treatment. Basically, I was in heaven. Calming music was playing, I was falling asleep and Irene was doing an amazing job and explained what she was putting on my face and the benefits. My face started feeling so nice after my peel! I was blown away with how much of a difference it made and now I want round 2!

The massage was amazing and in my opinion, added to the whole experience. Irene massaged my head, back, down my neck & arms. I'm just going to throw it out there - ear massages are so damn good! I had to try to not fall asleep, it was super hard. At the very end of my treatment, sunscreen was applied on my face because I had just received a deep treatment and had to still stay safe from UV rays.

I walked away with a couple of products from ASI that I've been using since my facial. The first one is the Pure Hydration Plus. This is used to target eyes, lips and sensitive areas. It's a multivitamin moisturiser with hyaluronic acid (the mecca of hydrators!). The other product is the Pure Pro Exfoliant which is used to exfoliate away dead skin cells, containing Chamomille, Glycolic, Lactic and Salicylic Acid. It's used to target fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, scarring, used to open pores and also targets age spots.

I cannot speak more highly of my experience at Brazilian Beauty. Not just of the treatment, but of the service I received from Roxy and Irene. Because I loved it so much, I've decided to give away a facial on my Instagram! Check out @amberlowther for details on how you can win a facial at Brazilian Beauty!
