Hey Readers!
One of my weaknesses, apart from shoes, is watching fashion documentaries. As a fashion student, I find them so educational and interesting to watch. This allows me to understand more about this crazy industry and all of the avenues you can take.
I recently watched Premiere: Ellery in Paris which is a documentary produced by Vogue magazine about the amazing Australian designer Kym Ellery's first Paris Fashion Week show.
I was able to watch this on beamafilm, which is currently the only Australian website streaming the documentary. Information on how you can watch it will be down below alongside a preview trailer!

Although I am not a fashion design student, it really helped me to understand what goes on behind-the-scenes of all the design and organisational processes to produce a catwalk show. I was glued to my computer the whole time because there was so much going on. It was such an intimate documentary in terms of knowing how Kym was feeling and her emotions surrounding the lead-up to her show at Paris Fashion Week. It's such an amazing achievement and it just reconfirms how talented Kym Ellery really is. From seeing the casting process of models to intimate chats with Kym and watching her do her make-up in her Paris apartment, there is so much to learn about Ellery as a label, the processes of running a show on such a massive scale and also about Kym. It was refreshing to see her positive, outgoing personality throughout the documentary and to see her share intimate moments with her partner, Luke Stedman.

The trailer for Premiere:

You can watch Premiere on beamafilm HERE as part of their 7-day FREE trial or a $5.99 monthly subscription. Also, members of some Australian public libraries can also view the film for FREE with their membership number.

All in all, I absolutely loved this documentary. It was so raw and definitely one to watch if you're a fan of Ellery or a fashion student! Highly recommend!

  4. I just found this review having searched for this documentary for some time. I watched it on Beamafilm and liked it for the most part. Ellery is a very cool lady but I wish we could have seen her get as wild as a few people said she can get! She is gorgeous and fun and her clothes are really wonderful. Luke Stedman seemed like the perfect boyfriend and I was impressed with him going to Paris ahead of her to paint the space. The only thing I didn't like was the extended interpretive dance interlude. Two minutes would have sufficed...not the eleven or so minutes. I am so impressed with this designer and loved her quirks! I am sorry to learn she and Luke are no longer together...but they will always have Paris!
