Hey Readers!
The Teneriffe Festival is back and celebrating its 5th year! After having more than 50,000 guests through their gates, this year is set to be bigger and better than ever. The festival is now the largest cultural festival in Queensland.
The most exciting part (in my personal opinion) is this year they have created an all-day fashion precinct. There will be 7 runway events, pop-up shops, styling workshops, pamper stations and much more! Local designers will be showcased alongside the best creative industry talent.

The showcase includes Swim & Resort Wear, Sustainable Styling and Designers, Accessories, Shoes and Bags, Avant Garde Hair & Make Up, Emerging Designers, Woolmark & Winter and Established Designers a& Local Boutiques

Labels and boutiques to be featured include:
Princess Polly
Vogue Nationale
Wil Valor
Oki and Oko
Colin Heaney
Latin Clothing Co
Stone and Metal
Hungry Wolf The Label

For more information about the runway events, click HERE
For the full list of labels and boutiques, click HERE

It will be held at the London Laneway, Teneriffe.
Tickets and tables for the runway shows can be purchased HERE

Hey Readers!
I'm so excited for this post, as it's a bit of a 2 in 1. I have my birthday outfit to show you alongside an exclusive interview with Talulah and ISLA by Talulah Creative Director, Kelli Wharton
I have been an initial fan of Talulah for quite some time. Lustering over each collection for a few years. When ISLA was launched, I jumped on the bandwagon and loved what I saw. I was really interested to find out the difference between Talulah and ISLA, which you can see below in my interview with Kelli.

I was fortunate enough to snap up a piece from the ISLA Winter Collection. I am absolutely IN LOVE with this dress. It's so unique, comfortable and perfect for those cold nights when you want to hit the town. Every Winter I am in search of new clothes to go out with, for parties and events. This dress is suitable for all of those occasions and is definitely a head-turner, not to mention, it keeps you super warm! I highly recommend anything from the ISLA Winter Collection. There are so many bright colours throughout the collection and each garment can be easily styled. It's the perfect label for a young lady.
This is also a body-con dress and has a very sexy asymmetric hemline - a detail which I love.
I styled this dress with my favourite heels.

Outfit details and my interview with Kelli will be down below!

Dress: 'Kiss Me': ISLA by Talulah (ISLA Winter Collection)
Shoes: Windsor Smith

Kelli Wharton, Creative Director of Talulah and ISLA by Talulah.

1. What inspired you to branch off from TALULAH by creating sister brand, ISLA?
ISLA was born to serve as the creative expression of the jovial and playful side of TALULAH, as well as build a strong identity for the youth wing of the company. ISLA offers designer clothing for young women offering TALULAH’s key silhouettes and vivid prints and the inspiration from TALULAH’s main line but the interpretation is a little younger and quirkier which translates through different fabrics, finishes and prices.

2. The ISLA Winter Collection has some very unique prints, what inspired you to create them and what was on your mood board when creating this collection?
We select a range of digital prints sourced globally, to offer something unique, bright, feminine and fun. We draw our inspiration from florals, graphic design, and international trends building on the prints we featured in previous collections to offer something contemporary and on trend. On my mood boars I have everything; Tropical! Mosaic tiles, neon Brights, lustrous metallic, majestic islands, sundrenched sands, sunset soirees and heliconia florals.

3. What is your one "must have" fashion piece this Winter?
Any of the printed ISLA dresses as they can be worn to work with flats or out with friends teamed with high heels.

4. Your ISLA Winter Collection has the statement, "Think Less Live More". How does this collection represent that?
ISLA collections are made for the ISLA girl. With a wandering freedom, the Isla girl is youthful, spirited, healthy and happy and explores her everyday style as an expression of her individuality. She is similar to the TALULAH woman in her feminine style, but pushes the boundaries by exploring different fashion looks and mixing key trends, adding a touch of rebellion and individuality. The ISLA girl is not afraid to be the first with fashion, and will mix prints, clash colours and rock bright kicks with feminine looks to start a new trend.

5. Both TALULAH and ISLA collections are filled with bright colours, do you like to have a lot of visual inspo in your personal working area?
Yes is do however I am inspired by many things from the things I love, music, different colour ways, travel and the Australian beach lifestyle.

6. Who is your #1 style icon for 2014?
Cara Delevingne! Her natural beauty and individual style tie her perfectly to both the TALULAH Woman and the ISLA girl underlying design aesthetic - confident, imaginative and styles with elegance and sensibility.

7. What's coming up next for TALULAH and ISLA?
We are introducing some beautiful new product categories, and have also partnered with some amazing designers and partners to produce new diffusion lines, to be released later this year. Watch this space and keep shopping online at Talulah.com.au to see what’s new.

8. What is some advice you'd give for those who are wanting to pursue a career in the fashion industry?
Experience, experience, experience! I suggest working for a fashion brand or business where you can understand the different roles that form a company and operate a fashion business day to day. Find out what area you enjoy; accounts, public relations, marketing, design – there are many sides to the business of fashion you can be a part of. Fashion can be fast paced and tough – so have a can do attitude and try and get involved in all opportunities that come your way to grow and explore.

Hey Readers!
I was extremely lucky to be invited to an exclusive preview last Thursday night at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre. As you can probably tell by the title, the preview was for the Oaks Day Fashions on the Field Parade, sponsored by Channel 7 Brisbane and the Treasury Casino and Hotel.
The preview was held at the new Nantucket Kitchen and Bar on Station Rd. Alongside eating absolutely delicious food while sipping on champagne, guests were able to admire the models walking around the tables wearing some amazing race day outfits. This was presented by Laura Churchill of The Style Report. A couple of labels that were featured in the preview were Camilla and Marc and Manning Cartell.

Having already felt privileged to be at the preview, I was also in the presence of well-known and talented Australian designer, Camilla Franks. Who, may I add, was at the table next to me. I was also seated near models Samantha Harris and Rachael Finch. They are just as beautiful in real life, trust me.

My best friend Hayley joined me on this night and we both agreed it was a wonderful, relaxing evening. We were able to mingle with some lovely ladies at our table. It was great to see what is on trend this racing season and how to ensure you are standing out on Oaks Day!

Indooroopilly Shopping Centre has undergone some major changes. The new, modern part of the centre holds some of the best brands. Some of the brands now available at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre include: Carla Zampatti, Manning Cartell, Scanlan Theodore, Sass and Bide, Zimmermann and Camilla. The list goes on - it really does. I was highly impressed by the luxurious interior surrounding the redevelopments of the mall. It was such a premium experience, one that I believe will attract many shoppers. If you haven't made your way over to Indooroopilly Shopping Centre since the unveiling, I encourage you to do so!

Here are some of my personal snaps from the night:
