How crazy is it that it's already May? I felt like Christmas was yesterday! I can't believe how quickly the year is going. But in saying that, it's always exciting seeing the new products from brands and keeping up-to-date on everything fashion & beauty. Although these products I'm about to talk about aren't extremely new, they're still innovative and exciting enough to put a spotlight on!

So, I love makeup. Makeup is life, makeup is love. But what would makeup be without the right tools? Nothing, right? That's where Real Techniques comes in. I've bought my first Real Techniques brushes in 2012 after the amount of hype they received in the YouTube community. Which was natural, considering they were created by YouTuber's. I still use the brushes I use makeup and they've lasted SO well. So when the brushes pictured below came across my desk, I was over-the-moon and super excited to try them out!

If you're well-educated on the makeup world, you'd be aware of the excitement that surrounds beauty sponges. They're everywhere! A lot of people are preferring these over your ordinary brushes due to the natural finish you can achieve and how much product you can save when applying foundation.

Here's some information on each product, including what they do and how much they retail for:

This is a dream for buffing in liquid foundation. It gives a flawless finish and the bristles are so soft!

The bristles on this brush are dense and rounded so that they can get into the crevices of the eyes. Perfect for blending and focusing on smaller details.

This brush does everything! The round side is great for blending liquids on larger areas of the face, whereas the flat edge helps to contour around the nose and eyes. The tip is ideal when it comes to covering small imperfections.

You can buy the three together in the Ultimate Base Set for $33.75 (price on publication)

This sponge has six surfaces to help you sculpt your face to perfection! The smaller side of the sponge is the best for highlighting and the large side for contouring. You can use this wet or dry, depending on whether you like a dewy or full-coverage look. This can be used for creams, liquids and powders.

You can purchase the Miracle Sculpting Sponge for $16.99 (price on publication)

Miracle Complexion Mini Sponge 2PC
These have to be the cutest sponges on the planet! Gone are the days when eyeshadow fallout ruins your look or jabbing yourself in the face with a mascara wand with no return! These little miracles sweep away your makeup mishaps. They also help you blend harsh lines when you dampen it! They're my personal favourite.

These Miracle Complexion Mini Sponges retail for $16.99 (price on publication)

Hello, lovelies!
It's a new week which means I have a new outfit to share with you! I am absolutely loving this look I came up with. It's sexy, cool and it includes a statement piece which will grab attention! I've always had a thing for unique pieces. I feel like you can never go wrong with something out-of-the-box if you style it correctly and this shirt is no different!

But when it comes to purchasing clothes, sometimes you can feel guilty when you're splurging on a new outfit. Luckily, there are some amazing retailers out there who have great quality pieces for amazing prices - thank you, retail god's! Also, if you're a university student, you can actually be getting EXTRA off your purchases if you sign up to UNiDAYS. I used my account to receive 10% off Dissh for my top and skirt pictured below - which is too good not to take advantage of.

UNiDAYS is 100% free. There's no joining fees, no hidden catches. It's honestly just to ensure you have amazing access to discounts as a uni student. The sign up is simple and proving you're a student is an easy process.

Since it's getting cooler, I love the look of a faux leather skirt in winter and how it feels. It's thicker and it looks amazing with boots and even with tights underneath for the cooler evenings. This top is the perfect combination of everything I love - it's a unique style, it shows skin, I love stripes and it fits well. I styled this outfit with some high heel boots (my go-to to for those chilly nights).

So what are you waiting for? Go sign up to UNiDAYS and score on incredible deals!

You know what I love? Soft, simple business shirts. They are the most comfortable thing in the world and I can't get enough. I've been wearing this one (below) non-stop. I think my friends are starting to wonder if I've cleared my whole wardrobe except for this and a couple of pairs of jeans.
Finding a business-style shirt can be a hit or a miss. Some are really hard and don't have much movement to them at all. This one is a damn winner though. I feel like I'm wearing nothing while I'm fully covered up (minus a few buttons, of course!).

I love styling this with jeans and heels. It looks sophisticated and it's easy. This also looks killer with a denim mini skirt and heels. It's just one of those shirts that are universal and extremely versatile. When I first put this on, I couldn't believe how soft the material was. It's nothing like other shirts I have in my wardrobe. Although, if you feel the cold like I do, note that you will be subject to feeling the chilly air.

If you want a shirt like no other, check out my outfit details below!

Hey hey!
It's getting chilly in the mornings and evenings here in Brisbane. I'm one of those people who notice the weather way more than your average person. You see, I have a hate/hate (yep, you heard me) relationship with winter and hibernation is my way of life during that time. Buuuut, when I am forced out of my little cave, I do like to embrace winter fashion and put in a little bit of effort.

I've always wanted a puffer jacket but never got around to purchasing one. I thought it could be seen as an overreaction since Brisbane "doesn't even get cold" - WRONG. SOME OF US FREEZE!
I've finally jumped on the bandwagon and secured the most baddass jacket alive. I made my way to Uniqlo in the Brisbane CBD and had a browse around their HUUUGE store. I knew I wanted to grab a few things that I could add to my winter wardrobe since I always seem to just layer summer clothes and hope for the best.

I feel the cold like no other. Heck, I rug up because of shopping centre aircon! For me, I really need clothes that are going to keep me really warm. I am very tolerant of the heat and it takes a lot for me to get uncomfortable in warmer temperatures, but as soon as the first sign of cold weather comes around, I'm ruined!

So, I'm totally proud of myself for buying a piece that I know I'm going to get heaps of wear out of. Also, it's so comforting knowing I'm going to be a toasty cinnamon bun in this Ultra Light Down jacket of goodness and all things amazing. The outfit below is a super cute and easy way to still look fabulous when it's a chilly outside. I recommend adding stockings if the temperatures drop more than you expected!

Hello, hello!
This week, I've decided to get a bit 'extra' and whip out a gown that will knock your socks off (just make sure you have spares because it's gettin' cold outside)!
You see, a lot of us ladies love to attend extravagant events and dress to the nines - I am definitely one of them. You might have a ball, black tie event or even a wedding where you need to look as fabulous as ever. But you know what sucks? Paying heaps of $$$ for a dress you might only wear once! While you'd be glad you went all out, it's not good for your bank account to have an expensive dress collecting dust in your wardrobe. The poor thing is probably weeping because it was only good for a one-night stand.

You know what? There's actually a solution to this problem, believe it or not. Instead of auctioning off your arm, leg and first-born child for an outfit, you can actually HIRE a dress instead. That way, you're paying just a teeny tiny fraction of the cost and you will have more room for permanent pieces in your wardrobe. The dress I'm wearing below is from a new Brisbane-based online gown hire service, Borrow Our Wardrobe. What would normally be a decent paycheck's worth is made easy with an affordable price. The best thing about the website is you can choose to have your selected gown for either 4 or 8 days. This means there's more time to send it back and you don't have to be rushing to the post office post-event! Hallelujah.

Borrow Our Wardrobe has a range of beautiful gowns on offer, so you can hire them straight away! I couldn't go past their Jupiter Gown - it's an absolute dream and I felt like Jessica Rabbit (my goal in life - don't judge me k?).

Hello, beauties!
We all dream of the day where our lashes will look like we've just walked out of a Disney princess movie. Ah, what a life, right? Well, you can be a tad closer to living the dream with a beauty service like no other - a lash lift. What is this sorcery, you ask? It's pretty much a perm...but for your lashes. Silicone moulds are applied to lengthen and curl your lashes from their roots. A solution is applied which turns them into long, luscious, magical lashes! I know what you're thinking - she's lying! This is just another beauty fad! I need a snack!
I could definitely go for a snack too tbh BUT back to the point of this post - this is legitimate and lash lifts are amazing.

I visited Urban Day Spa in Ipswich for my first ever lash lift. I was so excited since I had thought of trying it out for a little while. I wasn't too sure what to expect and how well my lashes would take it but I went in and walked out absolutely stoked! An eyelash lift at Urban Day Spa with a tint included costs $100 and without a tint is $80. Since I have half-blonde-half-black lashes, a tint was very much needed! I was really looked after by the lovely ladies at the salon. I was treated to a beautiful arm and hand massage while waiting for the lashes and tint to set.

I am over-the-moon with my results. I was so shocked when I saw how amazing they were! I couldn't believe how much it can change in such a simple and straight-forward treatment. My lashes are so incredibly long and full. I don't need to wear mascara if I don't want to and I don't need to worry about looking like I have no lashes.
This should last 6 weeks and the tint for 4 weeks. I've already booked in for my next treatment because I love it so much! If you haven't tried a lash lift, you need to do it ASAP.

See the photos below for how it all went down! I will never go without a lash lift again. I'm OBSESSED!

Long time no see! Jks, it's been a week.
But welcome, welcome, welcome! If you saw the title, you'd probably (maybe?) be able to tell that this post is about how to find an LBD for under $20. I know, it was hard to work out but I think you got there in the end. Anyway! For my past two blog posts, I've been showing you some black TOBI numbers. I'm a sucker for black-on-black so showing you three outfits now full of it, has been the best.

Now, you're probably dying to know how the heck you can get a dress for under $20. It's not just ANY dress either, it's a fabulous LBD that has life-changing magic powers. Ok maybe not the second part but you never know these days. All you have to do to is head to TOBI and purchase this dress for $19.88. Yep, you heard me. No joke.

The style of this dress is unique and I dig it. I love how it enhances my body shape and gives an illusion of a more curvy frame. I dressed it up with my fabulous tie-up heels which I've lived in for way too long (nah, not long enough).

On a totally unrelated note, I got my hair 'did' and I feel like a healthier me. Yes, yes I do. All I got was a few more highlights and a trim BUT STILL! I feel like life is better because my mane is fresher. Yeah wow, that was too far on my part.
But it's always better when you have amazing products behind you! I use Nak and I'm obsessed.

Hey friends!
This week, I have decided to introduce to you what I like to call 'the new midi dress'.
I am absolutely diggin' this style and love how this dress is free flowing with so much going on at the same time. When I first saw this dress on TOBI, I immediately thought how great it would look with heels, with boots and a leather jacket or with flats and a fedora. The fact that it's so easy to style is an absolute winner for me. Why have a dress you can wear one way when you can have something like this and go to town?

I've found some total winners on TOBI (you can see my previous post for another fabulous black dress). There's so much available and some styles I haven't come across in general shopping centre retailers. This dress especially was one I couldn't go past. It's perfect for formal occasions and is in TOBI's 'Wedding Guest Dresses' category. Which is great considering how hard it can be to find the right dress for a special occasion!
