CORPORATE CASUAL

Hey hey!
Can you believe Christmas is over already?! It feels like it was only yesterday (hehe) that I was stuffing my face with seafood, chugging down punch and laughing so hard my cheeks hurt!
Even though it's Boxing Day, I want to say a very Merry Christmas to you and I hope you had a fabulous day and were super spoilt!
I was going to give this weeks outfit a miss but I couldn't allow myself to - I'm on a roll.
Blogging never sleeps, even over the Christmas break! But let's be real, before I wrote this I totally hit the shops to hunt out the best deals for the Boxing Day sales! I even went an hour early so I got a park - now that's dedication.

Now, back to the blog post. This outfit is my spin on corporate. While I know it would most likely be frowned upon to rock up to work in a denim mini skirt (especially if you work in a corporate environment), it doesn't mean you can't embrace the look for other occasions! I am all about dressing like you're about to run into your ex or worst enemy. It's empowering when you're wearing a hot af outfit and your confidence is through the roof (just leave the cockiness at the door!). I believe fashion is an incredibly powerful thing, hence why I studied it! Being able to reinvent yourself everyday and being creative with your outfits is so fun. Plus, feeling good about yourself is even better. For some, fashion may seem materialistic and even pathetic, but I believe it's the opposite.

I hope you enjoy my variation of corporate casual! Don't forget to follow me on Instagram - @amberlowther.

ALL THAT GLITTERS

Hello there!
This week, I have a new outfit to get you feeling festive, fabulous and ready to celebrate! I came across this dress by accident. I was at my local shopping centre running some errands and thought I'd pop in to Zara. I was just having a quick browse until I saw this little number shining towards me. I also swear it said "hey gurl, buy me" - since I ended up purchasing it immediately after trying it on. Sneaky little bugger.

I've been loving the pajama trend - you know, wearing clothes that resemble what you should be enjoying a well-deserved slumber in rather than wearing them day-to-day? Well, this dress definitely looks like a little nighty..but I'm not complaining! I've been wearing it to death and it's super cute, you can't deny it! As you can see below, I styled it on its own but I would definitely consider wrapping a belt around the waste to define your shape.

I think this could be the perfect dress to celebrate Christmas Day or New Year's Eve in! Or if you just don't care, wear it to both! Just make sure you wash it because you know, you might accidentally drop your Christmas pudding or oyster juice on it and that would just be devastating. But what IS good is that I only paid around $70-$80 for this dress, which is a bargain and that's why we all love Zara, right?! Thank you, Zara for delivering the goods - always, forever.

P.S. You could totally wear it to bed after your NYE celebrations. Too far? Yep, ok. Sorry.

HOW TO: SPICE UP A CHAMBRAY PLAYSUIT

Hello hello,
There's nothing like a bit of chambray to give you those extra style points! Plus, it's comfortable, light, always looks good and you can wear it a number of ways with the different styles on offer. I've been after a chambray playsuit for a little while. I wanted something that was no-fuss and something that could be dressed up or down. Then enters exactly what I've been looking for!
I was doing some online shopping and came across this beauty and added it to my cart straight away.

It has pockets (which any girl knows - you've hit the jackpot if you have pockets!), a tie at the waist and it's easily done up by one little button clip halfway up the front - which I have forgotten to do at times and have almost flashed my whole suburb. If I was dressing this down, I'd add on a pair of white sneakers and be done with it! Since I don't do things by halves, I couldn't resist pairing it with my pink satin heels! These shoes are EVERYTHING -  I.am.obsessed.
Don't be scared to spice a simple garment with head-turning accessories, it can transform your entire look!

TIMES TWO

G'day, g'day!
While it's damn hot outside, it doesn't mean that the nights don't get a little bit of a chill or, if you live in Queensland, you'd be used to the frequent storm during summer which may lead to some north-easterly-westerly-southerly's (I could definitely be a weather girl, right?).
In saying that, sometimes it IS actually cool enough (weather wise, kiddo) to wear jeans. I've been rocking them for events at night and for those cloudy days that will most likely be spent in the air-con because who the hell wants to deal with the humidity while wearing jeans?! Hint: Naht me.
I could be boring and wack on some sandals and a plain t-shirt (which I do quite often, I won't lie) but for the sake of fashion and putting your best heel forward, I've gone with a more 'dressy' approach.

As you saw in my blog post from last week, I am well and truly still ridin' the bandwagon of everything off-the-shoulder. It's a wagon I refuse to get off. You can tell because I've now gone ahead and published this and if you scroll on down, you'll see my bare shoulders doing their thang (meaning: just being shoulders, probs). Not only that, but I am digging wearing two types of blue (hence the title of this post: times two). It looks fresh and it's fun to break it up with different tones. Since this top has a chambray look to it, it could almost pass off as a double denim look - which is still on said bandwagon.

If you've been reading Fashion Avenue for a while, you'd know I very much like simplicity. This outfit is no different: an off-the-shoulder top pared-back with ripped jeans and nude heels. It's clean and extremely wearable through this season and those to come. Seeing this top pop up on my Instagram feed since I bought it, most have styled it with shorts. Which is totally fabulous - do what you want, I dig it. But why not change it up from the norm and throw on a pair of skinny jeans for extra shape? Going against the grain is something I heavily believe in when it comes to fashion!

So take your jeans out of the freezer, steam your top and buckle up your heels: this is your new go-to! If Grease was based in 2016, Sandy would totes rock this, let's be real.
