WINTER IN THE CITY

Hey Readers!
I've been chosen alongside some fabulous bloggers to participate in the W14 "Winter In The City" Wish Style Challenge!
This is an exciting time for me, as I've been quite a fan of Wish for a long time. Having been selected, I was able to choose a garment of my choice to style and present to you in this blog post.
My style is simple and predominantly monochromatic. Although I'm always up for colour, I thought I would stick to my personal style roots for the challenge.

Upon going through what to choose, I wanted something that I didn't have anything like in my wardrobe. Something that is a Winter staple and can be easily styled and nicely accentuated against dark tones. Annette Cannock, founder of Wish and the head designer, has presented yet again another wonderful collection full of bold and tonal hues. There was so many things I loved so it was hard to narrow it down to one.

The garment I chose for the Wish Style Challenge was the Departed Vest. Since everything white is still on-trend and being embraced globally, I thought this was the perfect choice for the challenge.
This post was shot on a rooftop in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley to represent exactly what this post is all about - Winter In The City!

A big THANK YOU to my good friend, Josue, for being the photographer for this shoot.

WHITE OUT

Hey Readers!
My outfit post for this week is focused on all things white, with hints of black of course.
I love white-on-white. It's fresh and it's simple. But in saying that, it's definitely a colour trend that is here to stay during this Winter.
The centerpiece for my post are my awesome new Converse! Converse has released their new Chuck Taylor All Star Platform Plus. The shoe has over two inches of a concealed wedge, which is a godsend for us shorter girls! A feature that I love about these sneakers is the marbled sole - it's very 90's and adds a pop of colour.

They come in white, black, pink and purple. I went with white as I don't have anything like it in my wardrobe. White is also my new favourite colour for all things fashion.
These shoes are so comfortable and fun to play up an outfit. My new favourite sneakers!
I'm glad these are a part of my little Converse family in my wardrobe. I'll be wearing these all year!

Enjoy!

DAVID JONES: MOTHER'S DAY GIFT IDEA

Hey Readers!
My post today is a gift idea for your Mum this Mother's Day. You want something that is appropriate and something she'd love. You've done flowers and a card in previous years and want something new to do. What better way to show Mum just how much she means to you then to give her something that she can use everyday?
David Jones has a wonderful array of gift sets this Mother's Day. It's one of my favourite places to gift shop as there are so many departments and options to choose from.

This year, I hope to inspire you to dig a little deeper and spoil Mum this Mother's Day.
There are so many options for perfumes at David Jones. So many amazing brands and the price range varies. However, my choice for this year is the new Salvatore Ferragamo perfume, Signorina

This perfume not only comes in a gorgeous bottle, featuring a pink and purple bow-like display on the lid, but it is such a beautiful scent.
This scent is soft, floral and has a hint of sexiness. It is also quite sophisticated and isn't at all overpowering. It's wearable for both day and night.

With notes consisting of pink pepper, jasmine, peony and rose, Signorina smells like a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Not to mention the base notes of patchouli, musk and pannacotta accord.
This lovely concoction is sure to make Mum pleased this Mother's Day.

Signorina by Salvatore Ferragamo is $140 for 100ml and $100 for 50ml.

David Jones offers free standard delivery for orders over $50.

Enjoy!

CLASSIC

Hey Readers!
This post is all about embracing dark tones for Winter '14. My Instagram feed is continuously flooded with posts that quote "all black errythang" - I have been on that bandwagon for a long time.
The main focus of this outfit are my new riding boots from Zu Shoes. Not only does Zu offer great boots for Winter, but they are continuously offering a diverse range of styles and colours to suit all seasons.
I have many pairs of Zu Shoes and even wore a pair for my high school formal back in 2011.

Back to the boots.
What I love about this particular style I'm wearing is the quilted detail, as it reminds me of a Chanel handbag. The gold accents that are featured on the buckles, zip and heels are eye-catching and modern. This is super easy to style and I loved pairing these boots with black knee-high socks, a staple for Winter in my opinion. This style also looks fabulous with black skinny jeans.

I matched the gold detail from the bottom to the top as well. I broke it up in between with a black-on-black ensemble.

All of my outfit details will be at the bottom of this post, including links to this style from Zu Shoes.

Enjoy!
