Blonde Ambition - Outfit #6

Hey Readers!
The past 5 outfit posts I have done for you have been part of my 6-part series of a photo shoot I did in August specifically for this blog! I'm sorry for the delay of my final post for this series. I have recently started a new job, have taken the time to get used to that and to take some time off over Christmas.
Finally I am here with my final post from my photoshoot for Fashion Avenue that I had in August by Yazzi

The outfit I put together is definitely a summer outfit. If you live in Australia, you know what an Aussie summer is like! I tried to make it casual with a slight dressy touch. I added the heels for that. Yaz and I  decided to include this cute suitcase that I had laying around at home - we thought it would be a cute prop! (Let me know what you think, hehe).

This tie-up t-shirt (wow, try saying that 10 times) is such a cute addition to any summer wardrobe and can not only be for those hot summer days around town, but also for the beach and for parties! I paired it with denim shorts - as denim shorts are a MUST HAVE for my wardrobe. I have multiple pairs, ha!
The shoes were a little accessory I decided to add just to compliment the white in the tie-up!
I would definitely opt for some cute "summery" flats for those harsh-heat days.

I hope you enjoy my FINAL post for this series! I am thankful for all the support I get from each and every one of you.

Enjoy!

Lady In Red - Outfit #5

Hey Readers!
Once again I have a blog post for you from my photo shoot. This is my 5th out of 6 outfit posts I had prepared for this blog. It's been so fun to post these and receive positive feedback from all of you :)
This outfit is so simple. Yet, you can add a pop of colour to make it stand out.
The outfit I put together is a plain grey t-shirt, black pleather shorts, black platform heels, a red handbag and I matched it with red lips.
I wear this outfit quite often, mainly with flat shoes. For the sake of the post, I decided to add heels, which I would most definitely wear out myself.
I love experimenting with colour and I think now that it's almost Summer, colour is a major trend that you can incorporate into an everyday look. You don't have to spend your whole life savings on an outfit that incorporates colour. Instead, you can make it more personal and add it in a different way like I did!

I hope you like this post. Thank you so much to everyone who has been reading my posts from this series! I appreciate the support so much :)
Please don't forget to check out Yazzi's Facebook page here. She was such a great photographer, make up artist and editor! She is such a sweet girl and she deserves so much recognition for what she does!

Enjoy!

Tropicoral - Outfit #4

Hey Readers!
This is my 4th post in my photo shoot series. There are only 2 photos for this outfit, but that doesn't stop me from doing a post! This is a cute dress that can be worn dressed up or down. Like I have said in my other previous photo shoot posts, every outfit in this series CAN be worn dressed both ways.
I think this dress is so cute and perfect for Spring/Summer. I have worn this dress to a New Years party and to a best friends 18th! The colours featured in this dress makes it easy to accessorise. Neither of my outfits in this series have been accessorised due to the fact that I want to focus solely on the outfits provided and not so much accessories. However, if you would like me to do posts regarding a full outfit including accessories, then please let me know!

I hope you like this small outfit post. There are 2 more outfits to come your way. Stay tuned ;)
Thank you to the amazing Yaz for doing the photos! Don't forget to like Yazzi's Facebook page here

Enjoy!

MELBOURNE CUP 2012 ♡

Hey Readers!
If you're Australian, you should know that on the 6th November was the annual Melbourne Cup!
For those of you who aren't Australian or just don't know what it is, it is an annual thoroughbred horse racing event for the 'Melbourne Cup' trophy. Who would've thought? Haha.

If you're a girl, you probably see it as a day to get dressed up!
Others may see it as a day to indulge in copious amounts of alcohol whilst betting on what could be the winning horse.

Unfortunately, I could not go to Melbourne for it. Instead  I celebrated it in my home city, Brisbane, at the Doomben Racecourse. I also got to spend the day with one of my amazing best friends, Hayley :) I also did her make up for it!

So here I am with a blog post to show you my outfit for the 2012 Melbourne Cup! I decided to go a little bit out of my comfort zone and experiment with colour! Outfit details will be listed below.

Enjoy!

Meet my pretty friend, Hayley! This is the make up I did on her :)
I made sure I highlighted the inner corner with the same aqua used in her accessories.
The orange lip was to match her nail polish and bracelet.
I made sure I did a neutral look over the lids, just to make the the inner corner pop!

My outfit details:
Dress - Dissh
Shoes - Famous Footwear
Necklace - Colette by Colette Hayman
Headband - Cosmetics Plus
Clutch - Forever New (on the tag it said it was a pencil case, ha!)
Hair and make up done by me

Thank you for reading!

Turn Neon - Outfit #3

Hey Readers!
If you have been following my posts, you would know that I have done two ouftit posts so far from my photo shoot I had for my blog!
I will continue to praise Yazzi for all the hard work she put in to deliver these photos!
LIKE her Facebook page here

This outfit consists of a t-shirt dress that I absolutely love. As I have previously stated in my outfit posts, every outfit I had prepared for the shoot is able to be dressed up or down. I have worn this out clubbing with heels and I have worn it with boots for uni!
However, for this post I decided to team it with my amazing neon heels! I love these babies. I can proudly say I have pretty much mastered walking in these. Don't quote me though.

Too Blue To Be True - Outfit #2

So as you may have seen, I have already done my first outfit post from my photo shoot!
If you haven't seen my first outfit post, including an introduction to all of the outfits coming then feel free to check it out here :)

Click HERE to go to Yazzi's Facebook page. She did all the photography, make up and editing for the shoot! Please support her and tell her that I sent you :)

The outfit I have to show you now is a really simple, cute outfit that can easily be worn dressed up or down. Every outfit I prepared for the photo shoot can easily be worn both ways. This outfit consists of a plain blue t-shirt (you should know how I feel about basic tee's), a cute flowing skirt with coloured detail (including blue) that ends just above the knee! Also, blue wedges to match.
I think this outfit is so cute and innocent and I love incorporating colour into my outfits every now and then just to brighten it up a bit!

Please let me know what you think of the outfit and don't forget to LIKE my Facebook page! :)

B is for Burgundy - Outfit #1

Hey Readers,

I'm so excited to start my outfit posts from the photo shoot I recently did for this blog! There will be 6 posts in total and I thought I would start with this! All of these outfits were styled by me. I definitely took up the opportunity to have this photo shoot because I think it's important as a fashion blogger to show your readers YOUR own sense of style. I also think what you wear can say a lot about yourself. But fashion is art, you will interpret these outfits a different way then the next person will.

All of my outfits are simple and affordable. As much as we all love and dream of designer clothes, I want to cater for all ages. The best way for me to do that is to wear and style clothes that are affordable but fashionable!

The first outfit post I have for you is a simple look that you can style up or down. As my fashion blog progresses, you will see that I have an absolute LOVE for basic t-shirts. You really can't go wrong with a basic tee. So for this outfit I put a basic white t-shirt with burgundy jeans. I then chose to wear black platform heels. I have worn this outfit quite a lot with flat shoes. I also didn't go ahead with adding accessories. Only because I want the focus to be on the outfits themselves.

What I love about this outfit is that it is so simple and you can really make it your own. I wear a different shirt here and there with it, keeping in mind that I wouldn't exactly wear a bright green t-shirt with it, ha. There's a time and place for everything.

Before I get into the outfit, I would like to take the time to give Yazzi a special thank you for doing this shoot for me. I love how the photos have turned out and I really couldn't thank you enough for putting in the time to spend half the day with me, doing my make up for it and also for spending your time editing! You did an amazing job! Also a big thank you to her assistant Maddie for helping out! Please support Yaz by liking her facebook page and tell her I sent you!

Here in Australia it's getting into the hotter months. This is a great outfit because it is perfect for winter and for those cooler Summer days!
Please feel free to comment below :)
Enjoy!

'MY STYLE ICONS' PART 1: LAUREN CONRAD ♡

Hey Readers!
I'm doing a three-part series on MY style icons. The three ladies that will be featured are people that I look up to. In terms of inspiration and because I admire them so much! As you can see, this first post is going to be on Lauren Conrad. For those of you who don't know who she is, (fingers crossed you do) she was on two hit reality shows, Laguna Beach and The Hills. Although her fame came from reality shows, she's proven to be a hard-working, independent person. She is not only an author now, but also a fashion designer too. To me, she has THE BEST fashion sense. Out of my three style icons I have chosen, Lauren Conrad is hands down my favourite and the one I draw most of my inspiration from. She is the one that I have the closest fashion sense to. I may or may not own the entire 'The Hills' series..*ahem*

Now for the fun part! I have put together some photos that I have searched for. I could probably attach hundreds of photos, which I would have no problem doing. BUT! For your sake and for the sake of my mental stability, I have condensed it down to at least half a hundred. Okay..that's a lie and a half. I had to actually stop myself from saving way too many!

* Do you have post requests? Email me: amberavenue@hotmail.com*

Enjoy!

One thing I absolutely LOVE about Lauren Conrad's style and what I also tend to do is use plain t-shirts. I love how she is able to make an outfit amazing by using staple fashion items. Anyone can pull off a white tee and coloured jeans. What I love about this photo is that she toned it down by adding brown neutral heels. The addition of a necklace to her outfit gives it the final touch!

Stuck on what to wear? Why not wear a coloured flowy blouse and pair it with black jeans? It's comfortable, fashionable and do-able! I love how she matched her bag and shoes with colours featured in her blouse. The black aviators make her look complete.

Aiport-chic, anyone? Lauren teams a white blouse with dark wash jeans, a tailored black blazer, black sunglasses and neutral flats. What I love so much about getting inspiration from Lauren Conrad is that you are able to get the EXACT same look without going out of your way to find that certain item that happens to only be from an online store that doesn't ship to your country. Been in that boat? I sure have!  Let's just say it would be much easier to get Lauren's looks than Lady Gaga's..ha!

I'm not a die-hard fan or anything *ahem*, but this photo was taken from Heidi and Spencer's wedding. I love this off-the-shoulder dress. The fact that she added a thin, black belt really made the outfit. She was able to colour-coordinate by teaming it with black heels, a black Chanel bag and black nail polish. She did minimal jewellery, which is always nice when you have a look so extravagant.

What is there not to love about this outfit? She teamed a neutral dress with a light sequin blazer and black, strappy heels! HALLELUJAH!

This dress looks amazing on Lauren. It goes so perfectly with her skin tone and hair! The colours on this dress are so pretty together and I love how she accessorised!

It was so hard for me to choose six outfits. If you want MORE Lauren Conrad on my blog, let me know.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Keep an eye out for 'MY STYLE ICONS' PART 2!

FORMAL FLASHBACK ♡

Hey Readers!
So as the Formal season is coming around, it makes me flash back to mine. I graduated in 2011 and had my formal on November 18th, the very last day of school. It was a perfect night. I was able to get dressed up and get my hair and make-up done especially for the occasion. It was wonderful.

I thought I would share some photos from my formal and show you what I wore. From my dress, to my shoes, to my make up and hair. I felt like a princess that night. It was definitely a night to remember.
Enjoy!

I wore a baby pink dress, with silver accessories.
Dress - $180
Clutch - $30
Bracelet - $12-$25
Earrings - $15
Shoes - $80

My make-up was done by the amazing, Carla.

My date, Pat, and I took a horse and carriage with some other friends. Was so magical!

Pat and I looking up into the distance, haha!

My beautiful corsage :)

I hope this post gives you some inspiration!
